Anarkali Bazar is one of the oldest markets in Lahore. One of Lahore's greatest and most affordable marketplaces, offering everything from food to shoes, clothing, and even books, all of which are displayed on the sidewalks and in little stores at the end of the street. It has access to the old city, particularly to neighborhoods like Gawalmandi and the Urdu Bazaar. Try it out to experience Lahore as it truly is once you go there.
Lovely and historical place, located on the mall Road. Anarkali is divided into two sections old Anarkali and new Anarkali and it the favourite budget market in Lahore where you can find local brand's clothes, shoes, and daily life stuff in very affordable prices. You can use either Metro bus service or public van to visit Anarkali and it is recommended for all ages.
Six decades later, Anarkali Bazaar is a mere shadow of its glorious past. The diversity, vibrancy and class that were once associated with it are a thing of the past. The streets are clogged with carts and shopkeepers who are short of space with their goods out on the street. What little space remains on the street is shared between crowds of shoppers, motorcycles, rickshaws, and sometimes, cars. Most building structures have been replaced with unsightly, concrete storefronts; and those that remain are dilapidated. Today, it’s more like an entire village of twisting alleys and shops and stalls. It’s a collection of sometimes wide, sometimes squeezed-in dirty, overcrowded, and winding streets.
